Job Duties
Location: Mercy Medical Center - Cedar Rapids · Marketing Communications
Schedule: Full Time, Day, M-F 8-4:30
- Monitor and regularly report on performance of online initiatives.
- Support the posting/advertising within social media sites, email, intranet, search, and search engine marketing.
- Support the strategic direction, development, design and placement and maintenance of web pages related to the supported areas. Serve as internal technical support person for website users and change requests.
- Support events from planning to day-of execution including setup/logistics, stakeholder management, program development, promotion and coordination of support staff as necessary.
- Ensure appropriate use of branding messages and the consistent use of all Mercy logo marks to position the organization positively.
- Work collaboratively to maximize marketing opportunities and to distribute information to internal and external constituents.
- Act as an internal liaison between departments in a professional and positive manner.
- Effectively communicate and prioritize activities in coordination with internal stakeholders from service areas and support departments including the Foundation and Human Resources leadership.
- Maintain applicable results-based analytics and report on communication-related activities.
- Provide guidance and proofreading of various materials.
- Shoot and/or coordinate photography/video, write and create content for multi-channel marketing and storytelling – digital, social, web, email, print publications, direct mail, etc. Manages the development/production of various marketing materials from concept to delivery. This includes leading collaborative work with internal and external resources (designers, etc.) throughout the project life cycle to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet the customer’s expectations and quality standards.
- Drive the development and execution of creative planning, project strategy, and implementation of marketing plans.
- Plan, itemize and execute marketing programs that support priorities in driving patient volume, effectively communicating internally and externally, and support critical areas of Mercy's strategic priorities.

- Strong project management abilities to include being organized, collaborative, thorough, flexible to changing priorities, ability to meet deadlines as well as multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional customer-service skills; ability to work effectively with both internal staff and customers.
- Excellent communication skills including written and verbal as well as interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage a large workload. Creative thinking applied to both problem-solving and planning, concept/project development.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to confidently present and "sell" ideas/concepts to gain support of internal customers as well as when working with internal staff.
- Ability to effectively work with production staff to execute final projects (designers, printers, fulfillment houses, etc.)
- Knowledge of hospital-based infrastructure and reporting relationships.
- Experience with event planning and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to plan and execute events ranging in size and scope to achieve desired goals.
- Experience with video production/photography equipment and editing software.
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in marketing or similar position involving project management and creative experience required
- Previous experience in website content management and digital marketing required
- Previous experience with fundraising and/or employer branding, recruitment and retention preferred
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Required: Bachelor's degree
- Preferred: Degree in marketing/communications or related field of study
