For over 50 years, Systems Unlimited has been a leader in providing top notch supported living supports to people with disabilities in Iowa City and surrounding areas. To continue this work, we are looking to hire a Supported Living Coordinator (SLC) for the Supported Community Living division in Iowa City, this coordinator will be specializing in Medical/Aging supports.

A little about a Supported Living Coordinator: As an SLC, you will be responsible for the daily oversight of an assigned caseload. Coordinators focus on meeting the health and safety needs of those we serve, while providing leadership and management that reflects our agencies Mission, Vision and Core Values. This position is integral in our effort to continue to Change Lives One at a Time.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Supported Living Coordinator is responsible for promoting dignity and growth for individuals served through service coordination, individual planning and staff supervision. Coordinators will:

  • Oversee service provision for a caseload of individuals with medical, behavioral or mental health challenges
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans of support, including goals
  • Actively work with individuals and staff to problem solve service related issues or concerns as they arise
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to a team of Supported Living Supervisors to support with development of essential leadership skills
  • Assist with all aspects of supervision for assigned caseload including hiring, disciplinary action and staff development
  • Interact and communicate with staff, parents, guardians, other internal departments or external providers in a manner that promotes the highest level of professionalism and teamwork
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for the agency
  • Provide direct support as needed

QUALIFICATIONS (Applicant should have experience in the following areas):

  • BA/BS in a human services related field from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and implementing service provision
  • Experience supervising multiple employees
  • Applicant must maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is acceptable from a risk management perspective

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: This is a full-time, salaried exempt position. Supported Living Coordinators must maintain a flexible work schedule based on the needs of their caseload, but is generally based on the office hours of 9a-5p, Monday through Friday. Some occasional evening and weekend hours will be necessary.
