Cornell College invites applications for a full-time innkeeper for the historic Brackett House Bed and Breakfast, located in Mount Vernon, Iowa. The innkeeper would be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment for guests, with general responsibilities to include all aspects of guest relations (reservation management, guest communications, greeting guests, etc), light housekeeping duties, breakfast menu planning and preparation, and development and maintenance of a comprehensive marketing plan for the B&B. Custodial, laundry, and maintenance duties are contracted through the College and is not part of this position's duties, however this position is responsible for notifying and coordinating repairs as needed with facility services.

Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required, along with experience in customer service, housekeeping, and food preparation. Previous experience managing a bed and breakfast preferred. Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills and have a friendly demeanor. Must have a love for maintaining a beautiful, welcoming home for public use. Must enjoy working with the public both in person and on the phone and email. Ethical, dependable and capable of making sound decisions, with very limited supervision. Organized and able to coordinate room reservations. Must be trustworthy and capable of handling payments. Ability to perform light housekeeping duties. Requires ability to be flexible in working hours, including early morning and evening hours as well as on weekends. A passion and commitment for the work, culture, and mission of Cornell College.
