Iowa Eye Center in Cedar Rapids is now hiring for a Contact Lens Technician!

 

Iowa Eye Center is a physician-owned practice that sees patients from a large geographic area. Local solo practice ophthalmologists founded the group practice in 1992, and many employees have been here since then. It's a great place to work! There are 7 physicians and 55 employees. We are currently searching for someone to join our team. This is a full-time position.


​Key Responsibilities: ​

  • Fit all types of lenses, including soft, RGP, multi-focal, Toric, and Keratoconus
  • Evaluate proper contact lens fit through slit lamp examination
  • Supervise quality control within the contact lens department
  • Maintain stock inventory of contact lenses and supplies

 

What we are looking for:

  • Experience with fitting contact lenses, but would train a well-qualified ophthalmic assistant or optician
  • Experience with Ophthalmology and/or Compulink EyeCare Advantage and NextGen EHR would be great but not required
  • Experience with Ophthalmic and Medical terminology
  • Detailed-oriented person
  • Ability to work independently on a day-to-day basis with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate with your co-workers, physicians, and medical personnel
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients
