Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Engineering Technician/Drafter to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will assist the engineering team with drafting, design updates, documentation, and project coordination, while also supporting the production team with routing creation and cost estimation for new products when needed.

The ideal candidate is technically skilled, highly organized, and proactive, with the ability to collaborate with engineers, factory staff, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with drafting and design, including creating and modifying 2D and 3D models.
• Generate and update technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints using AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Maintain and organize bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to estimate production times, resolve discrepancies, and assist with costing new products.
• Work closely with factory staff, sales teams, vendors, and customers to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

• Two-year applicable degree and/or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and creating blueprints, schematics, and BOMs.
• Strong aptitude for 3D modeling.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven responsibility, accountability, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and persistent.
• High level of initiative with the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
• Ability to collaborate with team members while also completing tasks independently.

Preferred Experiences and Abilities

• Experience in manufacturing, product design, or industrial environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor or other 3D CAD software.
• Experience in sheet metal component design.
• Background in part routing and processing time estimation.
• Experience creating and updating user manuals or installation guides.
• Familiarity with conducting time studies.
