Job Description

We are seeking an energetic, outgoing, and dynamic Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves role, ideal for someone with a positive, can-do attitude and a creative approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of design and/or manufacturing experience and a passion for developing innovative products from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage projects from concept through completion, ensuring timelines and goals are met.
Develop new products incorporating structural, mechanical, and electrical design.
Create innovative system-level designs and improve existing designs.
Maintain and create bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and production time estimates.
Resolve discrepancies between standard and actual costs and assist in costing new products.
Source parts through new and existing supply chains.
Collaborate with factory staff, vendors, and customers to ensure project success.

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field, OR equivalent expertise in Electrical System Design.
5 years of design and/or manufacturing experience.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and bills of materials.
Experience with Electrical System design in low and medium voltages.
AC Motor Control experience including Variable Frequency Drives, Transducers, Motor Starters, etc.
PLC programming experience.
Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects with a proven record of delivering results, and building long term relationships.
Strong communication skills with ability to effectively interface with factory, sales staff, vendors, and customers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with working knowledge of Microsoft Access.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 3D modeling software.
Strong technical writing skills.

Prefered Skills & Abilities

2+ years of experience managing design projects from inception to completion.
Advanced knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
Product design experience, with an emphasis on sheet metal components.
