Project Overview

Ingios Geotechnics, Inc. (Ingios) specializes in the development of innovative technologies to improve geoconstruction practices. We are working in partnership with the Iowa County Engineer’s Association to map and evaluate the stiffness of unpaved roads across Iowa with a software equipped vibratory roller. Mapping data will be used to enable county engineers in making timely, informed, decisions that are cost-effective about maintenance of the Iowa unpaved roads system.

 

Job Duties

• Operate a smooth drum, vibratory compaction roller on unpaved roads in Iowa
• Drive truck to nearby diesel fueling stations and fuel roller with auxiliary tank
• Send daily text updates to Ingios personnel

 

Job Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license, no CDL necessary
• Must be able to safely enter and exit the roller
• No prior heavy equipment operating experience necessary, training will be provided
• Ability to communicate with other operators
• Ability to send daily update photos and location via text
• Ability to assist other operators with rides to new locations

 

Compensation

• Hourly pay for operating the roller: $28.89 per hour
• Hourly rate for driving to and from the roller: $28.89 per hour
• Personal vehicle mileage reimbursement to and from the roller: $0.67/mile

Hours

• Working hours are flexible based on the operator’s availability
• Daytime, evening and weekend hours available
• Roller is operated generally from early spring to late fall
• Minimum operating time per day is preferably 4 hours
• No operating is allowed after 10 p.m.
