The City of Palo, IA is seeking an energetic and dynamic leader to fill the position of Full-Time City Administrator/Clerk. This position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and a solid background in accounting, record keeping, city policies, public relations, and spreadsheet management.
Key Qualifications:
Proficiency in PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with gWorks software is a plus. A high school diploma is required. Valid Iowa Driver’s License. Accounting training or experience in a public sector management position is preferred.
Position Overview:
The City Administrator/Clerk is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the city, managing records, assisting with budgeting, and also implementing city policies. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work with the public while coordinating with various departments and officials. Additionally, the position involves preparing official documents, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting city initiatives to maintain efficient and effective governance.
