Essential job responsibilities include:
- Identifying and describing various product types (i.e., apparel, shoes, accessories, home goods, etc.) and entering/listing product information into BHFO’s computer database (you are generating our product descriptions for our selling sites!)
- Using a hand-held scanner to scan products to update quantities or move products to the next step of the process
- Printing product barcodes and applying to products
- Weighing products using a desktop scale
- Inspecting products for quality and noting quality issues in the product listing or forwarding to a supervisor for resolution
- Reporting to work as scheduled and working full scheduled hours to meet job expectations, and working overtime when required (some holidays may be required)
- Working efficiently to achieve/exceed daily production goals
- Working in other jobs and/or departments when needed
Job requirements include:
- Ability to use a computer to navigate databases, perform Internet searches, enter product listings, including the ability to type at least 40 wpm with accuracy
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to perform varying repetitive tasks
- Fine motor skills and dexterity, including grasping, holding, pinching, touching, and reaching
- Professional work attitude consistent with BHFO’s Core Values
- Ability to identify and describe various product types by reading, writing, and typing in English, including accurate spelling, punctuation, and grammar
- Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with others, including understanding instructions and information
- Ability to make sound independent decisions
- Ability to report to work as scheduled and work full scheduled hours to meet job expectations, and work overtime when required (some holidays may be required)
- Ability to lift, push/pull, and carry up to 25 lbs. various distances throughout the work shift
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform job at least 8 hours/day (plus additional hours when overtime may be required)
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, stretch, and reach above, below, and across shoulder level
- Ability to operate a pallet jack, occasionally, to move product
- Vision ability – close vision, ability to discern colors, depth perception, and adjust focus
- Ability to work in a temperature-controlled warehouse with a moderate level of noise
